Palak Paneer

Palak paneer is a vegetarian dish consisting of spinach and paneer in a thick paste made from puréed spinach and seasoned with garlic and some spices.

Here is the recipe :-

Ingredients:-

3 bundles- chopped spinach (palak)

250 gms- paneer, cut into cubes

2-3 green chillies

Salt to taste

4-5 cloves garlic

2-3″ ginger

2 medium sized onions

1/2 tsp- sugar

2 tsp- kitchen king masala

3/4 tsp garam masala

1/4 cup milk

2-3 tsps cream (malai)

Oil

Method:-

Blanch the spinach in a vesselful of boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Drain it and keep aside to cool for sometime. Blend in a mixer with milk to a smooth purée and keep aside.

Make a paste of onions, ginger, green chillies and garlic.

Now heat the oil in a kadhai, add the onion paste and sauté on a medium flame till it leaves oil. Now add the palak puree and 2 tbsp of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 -3 minutes. Now add 2-3 tsps of cream (malai), kitchen king masala, garam masala, salt and sugar and paneer cubes and cover it for 2-3 minutes. Ready to serve.

Note:-

I usually fry paneer cubes and then add into spinach paste.
