Palak Paneer

Palak paneer is a vegetarian dish consisting of spinach and paneer in a thick paste made from puréed spinach and seasoned with garlic and some spices.

Here is the recipe :-


2 bundles- chopped spinach (palak)

150 gms- paneer, cut into cubes

2-3 green chillies


2-3 cloves garlic

1-2 medium sized onions

1 tsp- sugar

1/2 tsp- kitchen king masala

1/4 cup milk



Blanch the spinach in a vesselful of boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Drain it and keep aside to cool for sometime. Blend in a mixer with milk nd green chillies to a smooth purée and keep aside.

Make a paste of onions and garlic.

Now heat the oil in a kadhai, add the onion paste and sauté on a medium flame till it leaves oil. Now add the palak puree and 2 tbsp of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 -3 minutes. Now add salt , kitchen king masala, sugar and paneer cubes and cover it for 2-3 minutes. Ready to serve.


I usually fry paneer cubes and then add into spinach paste.
